Cor, RIPE just had a Brexit referendum moment 51.12% to a 48.88% vote On a incredibly contentious topic that has been squabbled for years Or 68 votes This will surely not have any long running consequences to the mailing list arguments...

@benjojo that reminds me... LINX got name checked on a Radio 4 drama today. Some nonsense around escaped AI Virus where they had to turn all the routers and switches off. Largely drivel of course, but I did have to give them a respectful nod.

@benjojo I blame the "Charging Scheme Model B Costs us £350M a Week. Let's fund Charging Scheme Model A Instead" bus.

@kkarhan the filename thing is a interoperability bug between honk and mastodon, if this is a deal breaker the block button is already here as I don't always have time to write alt text for replies to people Also, wat? The source is literally my phone, I was just at the place where the photo was taken

As it was foretold and after the long weekend, the RIPE members-discuss is now basically doing the post brexit vote debate speed run. 10/10, I will give it a few hours before it is banished/muted from my inbox once more

Such great quotes like these, is this brexit or RIPE NCC Charging Scheme? Just comedy to me at this point
What is important now is for the result to be accepted and move on
we must fully accept this decision. But it means a lot of work now.
We’ve had a vote – now we have a result. It does not matter if you like it or not – deal with it.
The members have voted and we must respect that choice.

@benjojo I for one insist that we must now get "whatever the fuck it is" done! (At literally any cost)

@benjojo i will defintely not be quiet about raising PI costs discussions that always will come. We had the chance to entice them to become LIR. Chance gone.
