Airbags are an "amusing" demo of a product that undeniably saves lives, but also have become so toxic to make (and hold the liability of them for 5/10/20 years) that it's very questionable if it's worth making them from a manufacturing point of view.

Like would would want to produce bits of explosive chemistry that has a wide deployment and liability for decades?
