@benjojo at least it's compressed or subset somewhat, the full linux-firmware is 1.1GiB. biggest parts of that are qualcomm (232MiB), intel wifi (205MiB), and netronome (103MiB). I suspect your intel laptop will not need qualcomm or netronome firmware.

@benjojo Now I'm wondering if the firmware in the linux-firmware package contains any copies of SQLite (and how many). Surely some firmware author must have been in want of a database and decided to go for the obvious one.
