I wonder what the lore is behind this weird copyright year listing on *BSD's boot sequence Like I am sure there is a "good" reason why this isnt just

@benjojo I'd say either "lawyers happened", or "smartasses thinking they know law happened". With a uni involved I'd put equal chances; normally the latter is much more likely.

@benjojo Probably because that list of years is not continuous. 1979 - 1944 would also include 1981, 1982, 1984, 1985, 1987, and 1990.
