The biggest problem with LB-SMS is slow and inconsistent delivery and strain on the infrastructure Your neighbor might get a critical threat alert an hour or two later than you The same might happen during some emergency alert during a mass event, because LB-SMS i gets sent individually to each logged in client in the network Cell Broadcasts are… broadcasts. They get delivered to everyone instantaneously at once They're also "smarter" allowing for different levels of threat to be announced, with the highest one turning your phone into a siren It's just *better*

@benjojo They don't need that many options. The only appropriate response to a message containing the words “alert", "warning!", "storm" and "seek shelter" is of course “Yay! 🎉”

@benjojo people don’t know that, but you can avert storm by responding „no” to those messages. They can not start rain without your consent, that’s the law.
