It is impressively hard to find any good clips of the Olympic shooting events on things like youtube/short-form-media. I assume because everything is so copyrighted up the wazoo with enforcement that anything that is posted doesn't last. I cannot imagine that this strategy is sustainable that much longer, given the slow decline of "cable"/linear media ( I was trying to find clips of Yusuf Dikeç actually shooting, because of the meme )

@benjojo I've been looking this morning too, best I found were news clips from other countries, that were on YouTube, but the newsclips only had static pics of the shooting 🤷 I guess iPlayer is right there... but the internet should deliver, what's it for if not for routing around damage, which heavily licensed content most certainly is.

@dee "Amusingly" twitter has the best clips of Yusuf Dikeç, I assume that the abuse handling system there has taken up a more relaxed position since the takeover

@benjojo sadly the BBC doesn't have all events now either. The rest is on Eurosport. I am watching it now actually 'cos I pay £6/month for Discovery+ to watch WEC on Eurosport. I miss when the BBC had every event on iPlayer.

@kura Yeah it's fustrating, but I also just don't care enough to go to iPlayer/Pay for something to watch the olympics Like they are cool events, but they are just so hostile to watch (I assume football is like this as well) that it does not cross over the effort/reward. I dunno how this is not considered a larger existential problem for them. Then again, if the overall press vibe is right they have bigger existential crisis-es ongoing

@benjojo in general I don't either. I'll stick the olympics stream on for background noise while I work during the day. I don't watch football but from what I know it's much worse - entirely paywalled except for stuff like World Cup, Euros or FA Cup. WEC is a bit better, 8 races this year, all on Eurosport but then released in full on YouTube a week or so after the race. But much smaller audience outside of 24 Hours of Le Mans.

@benjojo ohhhh, sad. Maybe you have some kind of media library from your public tv station covering the Olympics
