Who needs "was there just a blip" monitoring when you can just run a pair of (reasonably) high rate auth DNS servers, any blip near instantly causes traffic to swing to the other server for some time...

@benjojo monitoring is in place now but queries are not as nicely distributed (no surprise) as in your screenshot

@nicoduck To be fair, both of my DNS servers are in the same geo (London and Cambridge) so DNS servers basically see the as the same amount of latency, hence the perfect split

@athompso There are many metrics, but few that can easily tell you after the fact that a blip happened so cleanly
