Turning a z-buffer into a "how badly should something be JPEG compressed" mask, giving this interestingly "robotic myopia" view (The effect is a lot better on landscape on mobile / big screen)

It's quite hard for me to find good clips that work well with this effect, the closest 2nd best I could find was this bird/tern flying off a post

Sadly I don't own anything that can do depth maps, so these were all predicted by Depth-Anything-V2, The prior art to this idea came from this thing I watched ages ago and always wanted to do it with real images: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CuNgLZiWkm8

@benjojo I think you could do this with the jpeg damage OFX and the depth mask tool in davinci resolve.
