BuyPass "Go", a free ACME TLS Cert operator is shutting down their free operation

There are several factors that together make it no longer commercially viable for Buypass to continue services related to TLS/SSL Certificates

As far as I understand it, this puts number of EU based ACME operators back down to 0

@benjojo zerossl is owned by a swedish company and they offer free 90 day certs via acme

@fs111 zerossl however, is not a CA, and chains up to Sectigo/Comodo is a US company

@benjojo Damn! I have been using them for a few years, exactly to avoid LetsEncrypt monoculture. Back to LetsEncrypt then, I guess.

@benjojo in other words: no one was using it before, now that the US is more unstable and people want things not run from the US, we predict that running it will actually cost us

@benjojo Thanks. I was curious and checked https://acmeclients.com/certificate-authorities/. This way I found #Actalis, a trusted Italian CA. They clearly offer some ACME support, but their free plan has no wildcard support and only a single domain (total or per certificate?) https://www.actalis.com/subscription
