Keep forgetting that my honk (fedi software) send out stuff to inboxes so aggressively that if I reply to someone I end up nuking the instance for ~3 mins. I need to actually click on a persons profile before pressing reply (otherwise it's inaccessible for a while) Also seemingly a lot of (especially) self hosted fedi instances are made out of thin biscuits

So yeah if I replied to you and then your instance broke, sorry! I assume what happens is that the rest of my follower base goes to check the profile, and that involves a auth'd fetch, and the victim instance either gets clogged up in database locks or from counter fetching public keys (of the other instances) or something... Honk doesn't seem to bother with counter fetching public keys for profiles given profiles are all public anyway, and I don't really have a way to block people, but honk is a outlier that shouldn't have been counted
