I appear to have a SSD who's S.M.A.R.T power on hours is not infact power on hours... File systems on it were made in June 2021, but the drive reports 5000~ hours (0.5 years) of Power On Hours. Use case was a NAS device with constant writes. Really weird!

Huh, even the RRDs show (what I think) is an angle change for the power on hours over the last year... Really really strange Device is a CT250MX500SSD1

Interesting that the rate of increase on power on hours don't seem to be massively linked to I/O load. Very odd. Maybe it's some power saving thing (as @eta suggested) but at the same time... I think the red dots might be linked to Kernel upgrades... (Also I should figure out what all that new write load is...)
