Visited a nuclear power plant today (Sizewell B)! Sadly no photos allowed, but a remarkably great tour given the average tour group was clearly schools or various non-ish technical groups, ours were all infra/power nerds and I was amazed how well they could answer all of the meaty questions!

also, the cafe near the Sizewell B is called Sizewell Tea and that is frankly adorable 10/10 trip

all that being said, I think I burned all of my food calories today staying warm, a lot of that tour was outside and man it was windy and cold today

@benjojo Did the same at Nogent-Sur-Seine a few years back. We went inside the turbine building and the command center simulator (usually used for training and evaluation). We had the opportunity to do a little on-hands scenario, guess who volunteered 😇

@benjojo Don't know if it is common outside of France, but there they used what they call "secure communication" that resembles a TCP handshake :
"Please close valve 42-A.
- You want me to close valve 42-A?
- That is correct"
