@benjojo there's also what subset of routes a network might advertise to the route servers. AS15169 at the time I was its routing czar advertised the minimum reachability subset intended to shift traffic via other paths as long as they existed (I know the policy has changed a few times since I handed off that role)

@LapTop006 yeah the policy these days from AS15169 seems to be (with some very limited exceptions) zero RS involvement, a somewhat understandable policy these days

@benjojo "Meta, Akamai, Google, Netflix, Amazon (I don’t know there is a decent name for these but i’ve been calling them the The 'Magna' networks)" I like this name! I know there's FAANG, which used to be Facebook, Apple, Amazon, Netflix, Google (but also works for this set).

@notecharlie Yeah that was part of my thinking, the "big tech" don't always translate to biggest bandwidth, but the a nice name (the other one was Manga, but that seems less good) given that Magna = hot, and these networks can easily produce "hot" ports :)
