I was at a gig on Sunday and noticed this interesting setup with one of the cameras that has this huge dark green isolator looking thing on the Power/SDI? Does any of the broadcast nerds here know what this is and why they need it here?

@benjojo Those cameras are probably run over SMPTE fiber. Armored, ruggedized, fiber and power in one cable. Strong and protected enough to be coiled up by motorized winches back at the truck once the gig is over. https://www.argosycable.com/product/argosy-hyperflex-pur-lemo-fuw-puw

@benjojo rubber boot for triax or fibre cable end. Not much use except when dragging ends around to stop them getting bashed. - the ends themselves are pretty chunky.
