@benjojo just watched the talk recording! Do you have any info about the “repeating frames” trick you mentioned some devices do for low bitrate links?

@mattm I slightly mis-spoke on that, I meant to say that at least a number of Broadcom ASICs when doing 100M on 1/10G ports, will internally operate at 1G, and internally repeat each symbol 10 times so that the other side sees it as a single symbol. This is almost imperceivable to the end device, but obviously is a janky workaround to a lack of 100M (or sometimes 1G) support
