@eta @benjojo there's a bit of history here as in a lot of Eastern Europe (and elsewhere) there's a taxi office in the airport and you would pay them and get a voucher which you take to an official car. This is nice as you're less likely to get ripped off, drivers carry less cash etc. It can also be better than a so called "ridesharing app" as there's just a queue of cars and you take the next one.

However in Prague, Uber got the contract for the taxi services, hence this machine malarkey.

@benjojo the official Uber experience in Rome involved walking through a multistory car park and milling about like the Gotham hobos in a Batman film. Very luxurious.
