I am forever impressed at how often telegram just doesn't actually work (app opens, but it stays in "connecting..." status for 10+ mins) It hides it's downtime very well, but for a [instant messaging/propaganda] platform it sure doesn't move messages very often

@benjojo Strange, it has been the most resilient IM platform for me. Wifi that disconnects once a minute, shitty LTE roaming with overloaded exit node 200ms away, shit-ass outsourced airport wifi with weird-ass MTU+broken PMTU, you name it, Telegram has just kept on going (messages actually getting through) when everything else mostly fails. (No opposition to the propaganda bit implied.)

@redsakana A friend points out that this seems to be a "western europe" problem more than anything else. At "peak" times (morning/lunch time/evening) getting "connected" is subject to a bit of luck it seems. I assume they are struggling to acquire hardware/capacity in a region that somewhat ideologically hates them

@benjojo I get that on iOS sometimes! I have to force-unload it, wait a few seconds, start it back up, and it usually works fine then. No idea why it's doing that though.
