I've acquired a decommissioned Cisco 7604 and my god, even if it is 2006 technology, so pretty and _dense_

And a proper stonking big backplane connector, two of them in fact for the supervisor (RSP720)!

The back of some of the linecards power sections look so pretty

Also those massive back plane connectors seem to be held in by friction alone!

especially the models with the vertical line cards and perfectly curved cable strain relief above

@benjojo Those chassis lasted very long and even had 40G linecards. And I think it's pretty.

@vidister If only they were like, maybe a few amps less power to actually run :D

@sulrich We gave this one a quick spin before looking too deeply at it, and it is already 1 power supply down :)

I was impressed(?) to see the datasheet claims a MTBF of 7 years(!)

@vidister Alas, I have the max X2->SFP+ modules that the platform can route :)

I think my flatmate is eyeing it up as a routing table capable coffee table
